Norwegian countryside romance, displayed in an authentic waterside merchant home from the 1800′s. Fully restored and perfectly suited for vacations in the Scandinavian heartland.

Ytterbøltangen lays in the center of what is known as the ‘Halden canal’, a stream of lakes connected by waterlocks buildt in the 19th century. The Halden canal were mainly used for lumber tranportation, but it would also prove as a wonderful way of commuting. This route is still used today by the local steam boat association ‘DS Engebret Soot’, and ‘Turisten’ a more modern way of boating, but still vintage.

As a result of the flourishing life in the canal, Ytterbøltangen was created. Mainly as a resource of daily goods for the passing boat traffic, but also as a home for the merchant and his family.

Today Ytterbøltangen is fully restored and offers a vintage resort with all the modern capabilities.
